Did you know that you don’t have to go to the department store to buy expensive beauty products that you can’t afford?
The next time you run out of your favorite body scrub or mask, just head over to your kitchen where you will find all the ingredients that you need to stay beautiful.
Here is a list of things that you might find in your kitchen, to create your own beauty products at home.
Ingredients to create you products:
- Tea Bags
- Sea Salt
- Powdered Milk
- Vegetable Shortening
- (olive oil, almond oil, grape seed oil, hazelnut oil)
Tea bags can be used for several things, you can drink tea to relax, and when you are done, you can save the bags and use them to reduce puffiness under your eyes; make sure the bags are cool before you place them on your eyes. You can also use the damp tea bags as a toner for your face; there is an ingredient inside the tea bag called (tannin) that has similar effects as astringent.
If you have eggs in your refrigerator then you can make your own face mask for dry and oily skin.
If you have oily skin, break an egg in a small bowl and separate the egg white from the yolk, beat the egg white for a few seconds, then spread it across your entire face and neck, let it sit for 15-20 minutes, gently wipe off with a warm wash cloth.
If you have dry skin, beat the yolk for a few seconds, and apply it to your face for 10-15 minutes. You can also add honey, and olive oil to the yolk.
If you want to make your own homemade body or facial scrub, look in your cabinets to see if you have sea salt, and any of these oils (almond, grape seed, hazelnut, or coconut oil). You can also add essential oils like lavender, lemongrass, peppermint, eucalyptus, or any of your favorite scented oils.
Mix the sea salt with the any one of the oils from your kitchen, and add a few drops of essential oil of your choice. Apply the mixture to damp skin in a circular motion.
Another item in your kitchen that can get rid of dead skin is oatmeal; mix oatmeal and a couple of tablespoons of honey together in a small bowl. Gently massage the mixture across your face and rinse off. You can also warm the oatmeal and honey in the microwave for a few seconds, it will feel nice and warm when you apply it.
If you run out of all of your expensive moisturizing lotion, look no further than your kitchen cabinet for a little vegetable shortening aka; Crisco. You can use it on your dry feet at night; just put socks on to retain the moisture, and you can use it on your dry hands, and cuticles. It’s cheap, and doesn’t have an odor.
Finally, if you happen to run out of makeup remove, and you have powdered milk in the cabinet; pour about 3 or 4 table spoons of powdered milk in a small jar of warm water and shake the jar for a few seconds. It should come out a little thick. Smooth the mixture over your face with a warm washcloth, wipe the makeup away, and rinse.
